Dereck Silverman, DPT in Smithtown
Dr. Dereck Silverman is a Physical Therapist and a partner at Block Sports Chiropractic & Physical Therapy. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Oneonta State College in 2008. He next earned a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Sage Graduate School in 2011. While at Oneonta he was a member of the Division 1 Men’s soccer program. Dereck’s clinical interests include manual therapy, sports rehabilitation, and injury prevention.
He is experienced in skilled myofascial release techniques, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, and provides individualized care with specifically designed treatment plans. He has certification in Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) through PBFR- Owens Recovery Science, and FMT-RockTape Level 1. Dereck has completed the following Great Lakes Seminars and is working towards CIMT (Certified Integrated Manual Therapist): Common Extremity Dysfunction through Mobilization, Functional Strength, Mobilization of the C/S-T/S-Ribs, Treatment of the Lumbar Complex, Sacroiliac Mobilization, and Comprehensive treatment of the foot and ankle. When not in the clinic treating, Dereck enjoys spending time with his family, participating in Triathlons, making surfboards, and traveling.

Ronald Masone Jr. DPT, CSCS in Selden
Dr. Ronald Masone Jr.is a Physical Therapist and a partner at Block Sports Chiropractic & Physical Therapy. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Human Movement and Sport Science at Sacred Heart University, and his Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy at Touro College. While at Sacred Heart he was a member of the Division 1 Men’s Lacrosse team. He is a licensed Physical Therapist, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, a Performance Enhancement & Corrective Exercise Specialist, and is certified in Graston Technique.
Dr. Masone has extensive clinical experiences including Team Physical Therapist for NYPD Triathlon Team, Personal Training, Athletic Training, Exercise Physiology, and has volunteered as a member of the medical team at both the New York City Marathon, and the Empire State Games for the Physically Challenged.
Dr. Masone is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the New York Physical Therapy Association, the National Academy of Sports Medicine, and the National Strength and Conditioning Association,
In his spare time Dr. Masone enjoys spending time with his family and coaching his kids lacrosse teams. He is a marathon runner and Ironman triathlete and earned the distinction of Ironman All World Athlete in 2018.

Dr. Christopher Loverro – PT, DPT, ATC
Dr. Christopher Loverro is a Physical Therapist and Athletic Trainer at Block Sports Chiropractic & Physical Therapy. Dr. Christopher Loverro first attended Long Island University- Brooklyn and graduated in 2017 with his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Athletic Training. He then continued on to receive his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Stony Brook University in 2020. Dr. Chris has had the pleasure to work in numerous clinical settings including outpatient orthopedics, hospitals, and collegiate and professional sports, serving as part of the performance team for LIU athletics and the Brooklyn Nets. His clinical interests include sports rehabilitation, foot/ankle injuries, and manual therapy.
Dr. Chris will be pursuing multiple Great Lakes continuing education courses this year to further his clinical skills, and knowledge to further help and assist his patients. Chris is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, and is a licensed athletic trainer through the Board of Certification, and National Athletic Trainers Association. In his free time, Chris enjoys playing golf and tennis, running, spending time with his wife, and family, and playing piano
Meet Ryan Merrihue PT, DPT
Dr. Ryan Merrihue is a Physical Therapist at Block Sports Chiropractic & Physical Therapy. Dr. Ryan Merrihue is a Long Island native who graduated from Binghamton University in 2013 with bachelor’s degrees in Biochemistry and Integrative Neuroscience. He then worked for us here at Block Sports Chiropractic & Physical Therapy as a physical therapist aide before going on to earn his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from NYIT in 2019. Ryan’s clinical interests include manual therapy, sports rehabilitation, and patient education.
Ryan emphasizes treatment and evaluation of the whole person, examining a variety of structures and systems that may contribute to the patient’s complaints and dysfunctions. Ryan has completed “An Orthopedic Approach to Myofascial Release” by Great Lakes Seminars and is FMT Certified by RockTape. He will be pursuing further continuing education courses this year to better care for his patients. In his free time, Ryan enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, traveling, and playing basketball and volleyball.
