Meet Amanda Wygonik, DPT

Physical Therapist

Dr. Amanda Wygonik is a dedicated licensed Physical Therapist at Block Sports Chiropractic and Physical Therapy. She earned her Bachelor of Health Science with a concentration in Exercise and Fitness and a minor in Psychology from the University of Bridgeport, and later received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Sacred Heart University.

A competitive gymnast for 19 years, including her collegiate career at the University of Bridgeport, Dr. Wygonik’s passion for athletics—and her own experiences recovering from injuries—inspired her to pursue a career in physical therapy. She is dedicated to helping athletes enhance performance, recover safely, and prevent future injuries.

During her clinical affiliations, Dr. Wygonik helped run free injury-prevention programs for student-athletes and gained diverse experience in multiple settings. She worked with veterans in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation at VA Northport Hospital and spent several months in Florida assisting patients in a memory care lock down unit to improve gait and balance.

Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Wygonik volunteers as a medical provider at the NYC Marathon, has traveled to Guatemala to provide free medical care to underserved communities, and collaborates with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) to promote awareness of the profession. Outside the clinic, she enjoys coaching gymnastics, spending time with family and friends, and skydiving as a licensed member of the United States Parachute Association.
